Neuse River Greenway bridge over Bridges Lake, just north of the Milburnie Park access point.

I bike the greenway from Horseshoe Park down to detour next to Barwell Road. This bridge is vastly substandard compared to every other bridge on this segment. The wood is warped and irregular, making riding on it a very unpleasant experience. It's as as if the contractor used wood from an old barn.

Either someone on city staff grossly under-specified the material requirements for this bridge, or else the contractor ripped off the city. Senior staff should inspect this bridge to determine whether legal action should be taken against the contractor. Quite frankly, this bridge should be torn down and rebuilt to the standards used on all of the other bridges in this segment.
